VFM is a statewide Head Start program focused on supporting income eligible individuals and couples in building healthy relationships in order to achieve better outcomes for children. The program involves partnering with other organizations to offer a range of practical skill-building sessions on communication, joint decision making, parenting, managing family budgets, conflict resolution and other elements to enhance family stabilization.
VT Family Matters Facilitators (various locations throughout Vermont)
Vermont Family Matters is seeking facilitators to co-facilitate workshops in Loving Couples, Loving Children - a relationship curriculum developed from John Gottman's research on couples. Facilitators provide important information and support to families throughout these workshops.
Commitment:
- Attend two, all day trainings: October 9 and 10, 2008
- Support two weekend conferences at Stoweflake Resort, November 1 and 2, 2008 and late April or early May 2009
- Facilitate five local workshops, 2 hours each
Qualifications: A degree in counseling, human services, social work or related field is strongly preferred. Successful applicants will have experience in group faciliation. Facilitators will receive a stipend of $50 for each local workshop presented as well as mileage reimbursement. Facilitators will receive a $100 stipend for each of the weekend conferences, as well as lodging, food and mileage reimbursement.
