VHCB is looking for a full-time Staff Accountant who shares the organization's commitment to affordable housing & land conservation in Vermont.
The Staff Accountant will assist the finance team in all aspects of financial record-keeping within a fund accounting/grant oriented environment. This individual will have responsibility for processing the Board's transactions relating to accounts payable, payroll, project and operating disbursements, and various other transactions of the organization.
The Staff Accountant will assist the finance team in the preparation of monthly financial statements, annual budget, and year-end audit.
Qualifications include: minimum three years well rounded experience in all aspects of basic accounting, including payroll processing; knowledge/experience with nonprofit and/or governmental fund accounting preferred; proficiency in accounting
software/experience with MIP preferred, spreadsheet applications, and word processing programs. Attention to detail, a concern for accuracy, and excellent communicator are essential
characteristics; ability to work well with others as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, a priority.
