Exploriments Camp
Ages: Children entering grades 3-5

Explore the intersection of science and art through experiments and messy projects! Each day, we'll try experimental projects that combine science and art-making. Along the way, we'll make homemade color-changing ink, blow bubbles, paint with ice, and discover other creative activities. Get ready to make a beautiful mess! Sign up while you still can.



Outer Space Art Camp
Ages: Children entering grades 2-4
Monday July 29 - Friday August 2

Science helps inform our understanding of how the world and the universe work. Art helps us interpret and communicate scientific concepts and our reactions to them. It's the art and science of living.

Become amazed, captivated, and intrigued by the universe beyond our planet! We will combine art and science to explore rockets, spaceships, the moon, galaxies, constellations, and more. Children will create their outer space art using clay, painting, drawing, and collage.

Discover the mysteries of the cosmos through your creativity with stellar art projects inspired by galaxies, planets, and cosmic phenomena, using clay, painting, drawing, and collage.



Pop Star Camp
Monday July 29 - Friday August 2

What is popular music? What are the elements that make a hit song? Why do certain artists become cultural icons whose presence transcends their music? In this week-long day camp, we will take a close look at our favorite pop, rock, and country music stars to see if we can crack the formula of their success.

We will explore the history and influences that have shaped the world of popular music and its performers. Then, we'll use what we have learned to write our own original songs, practice stage performance techniques, create star-worthy fashion looks, and even produce our own music videos!
No musical or performance experience necessary, but an interest in the world of popular music is helpful.



Rise-Up Rock Camp
Monday August 12 - Friday August 16
Ages 8-18

Does your musician show an interest or aptitude in Rock, Rap, Pop, Jazz, Blues, Hip Hop or Spoken Word? AMP-it-up at Rise-Up Rock Camp!

Campers come together to collaborate as a band and sharpen their music skills. Kids will forge strong friendships while learning new instruments, writing songs, and jamming with friends. Whether you're a budding songwriter or eager to master new instruments, join us for harmonious creativity and the joy of making music! Young musicians of all ability and experience levels are welcome.

Rise Up Rock Camp will culminate with a performance on the Camp Meade main stage for families, friends, and our community at large.



Glass making Camp
Ages: Grades 3-8

Practice the mesmerizing art of glass making! In this week-long camp, students will hone their skills at glass fusing, sculpting, and blowing under the guidance of glass artist Sam Lightner in her on-site studio.

Glass fusing involves melting and slumping glass in the intense heat of a kiln to create art pieces and practical objects, combining colors and incorporating recycled materials to create beautiful and ecologically sound art. In glass sculpting, learn to twist and cut glass into flowers, feathers, worry stones, and more, layering molten glass and using tools to create a final piece. After learning the basics, students will have the opportunity to make cups and other blown objects, using breath to make functional art.
