Initiatives to promote pollinator friendly gardening are widespread and continuing to grow. A landscape rich with a diversity of flowering plants is both beautiful and helps support the hundreds of species of bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinating creatures in Vermont. Annie White, a landscape designer, educator, and long-time pollinator advocate will share her knowledge and tales from the garden. During the workshop, we'll stroll through Horsford's perennial plants, discussing what attracts pollinators to different flowers - size, shape, color, aroma and more. We'll highlight some of the best selections for Vermont gardens and will also cover practical design and maintenance tips for creating and maintaining a more pollinator-friendly landscape.



About the Speaker: Annie White is an Ecological Landscape Designer and the owner of Nectar Landscape Design Studio in Stowe, Vermont. She is also a Lecturer in the Department of Plant & Soil Science at the University of Vermont. Annie is passionate about designing cutting-edge and science-based pollinator-friendly habitats at all scales—from urban backyards to rural agricultural landscapes.
